How to open a Worldserver package (*.WSXZ) and use a SDL Worldserver Translation Memory in SDL Trados Studio 2021

After installing SDL Trados Studio 2021, opening a WorldServer package is not immediately possible. What are the steps to follow to be able to open a WorldServer (*.WSXZ) package, create a WorldServer Return package and/or use SDL Worldserver Translation Memories? Trados Translation Software
Starting from SDL Trados Studio 2021, the WorldServer components - which include the ability to open and convert WSXZ packages, create WorldServer Return packages and use SDL Worldserver Translation Memories - are now included as a separate application that can be easily downloaded and installed from the App Store in SDL Trados Studio. The Worldserver components need to be installed once in order to be able to open worldServer (*.WSXZ package). Follow these steps: 1- Open SDL Trados Studio 2021 2- Go to the Add-Ins Tab and click on SDL AppStore. The SDL AppStore will display. 3- Click on SDL AppStore. You will see a list of all available apps. If you cannot find the WorldServer Component app right away, use the search field and type in WorldServer. 4- The WorldServer Compatibility Pack for Studio 2021 will appear. Click on the Download button. The download will start in the background. 5- Once the download is completed, you will see a link: Download complete- Go to your AppStoreDownloads folder and launch the app installers. Click on it. 6- The AppStore download folder (per default C:UsersusernameAppDataRoamingSDL CommunityAppStore IntegrationDownloads) will open up and display the zip file WorldServerComponents.zip 7- Unzip the archive file and you will find that it contains an installation file called WorldServerComponents.msi. Double click on it to start and finish the installation. It will finish very quickly and silently. 8- Close and open SDL Trados Studio 2021. 9- In the Home tab, you will now see a new button called Open WorldServer package. Use this button to open your WSXZ (WorldServer) package. You will also see the new button Create WorldServer Return package which you can use once you are done with your translation. 10- You are now also able to add SDL Worldserver Translation Memories from File > Options > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Use or from Project Settings > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Use NOTE - If you are having issues downloading the WorldServer Components plugin, you can find it in the Attachments area below |
